2. Document Purpose & History
This document explains the requirements to commission a vMCIM, vMCIM2 or vVOIMT at a customer’s site.
Soft Licensing
Where a Virtual module implements DSP in software (softdsp), the module needs access to an external licensing server to validate its license, each time it connects to the vUCP. To perform this functions require access to NTP and DNS services.
- During boot, the module looks up an ip address for the pool of ntp servers, serving centos.pool.ntp.org from its DNS server.
- The module looks up an IP address for softdsp.ipecscloud.com. At the time of this article, this resolved to the IP address 129.192.201.110.
- The module confirms its licensing with the licensing server.
- The module completes connection to the vUCP
Unlike most modules, these virtual modules require access to external resouces, other than Carrier SIP.
If the module is behind a firewall that restricts outbound traffic, please ensure the folliwing is allowed.
Please also ensure that you configure a DNS server when configuring the module’s network information. If possible use the customer’s internal DNS Server as below.
