2. Document Purpose & History

 

This document is intended to provide the reader with an explanation on how to change UCS licence types from device to user based. 

 

UCS – Changing Built in Licence Types from Version 5 to 6

 

 

Unified version 3.x.x has brought change to UCS licencing, version 5.x.x was based on devices whereas version 6 is now based on users. In order to use the x2 free built in licences as user base, you will need to make a change on the PBX. 

 

Changing Default Licence type

 

On the PBX

PGM100 scroll to the bottom of the page and find “default UCS licence” see below;

 

 

 

By default, the licence type will be set to “device” so your x2 free licences will be set for UCS 5.x.x. You can see this from the system overview.

 

Change this setting to “user” and save settings, now from system overview you will see 2 copies of UCS – advance (Version 6).
