2. Document Purpose & History

 

 

This document is intended to provide the reader with the necessary steps to set up Class of Service (Dialling restrictions) on the UCP or EMG80.

 

Class of Service

 

Dialling privileges can be assigned for each station, DISA line and Authorization Code. Dialling privileges are assigned in “Allow” and “Deny” Exception tables that are associated with a COS. The dialling privileges are the result of the interaction of the Station and CO Class of Service (COS) assignments and Exception Tables as shown in the charts below.

 

Users placing an outgoing call or dialling after answering a call will be allowed the dialling privileges assigned.

 

There are eleven (11) Station Class of Service assignments, which also apply to DISA and Authorization Code users based on the assigned COS (Class of Service).

 

 

 

Each Line can also have its own COS, below are the dialling restrictions based on Station COS vs CO COS

 

 

Each Exception Table permits up to 50 Allow codes and 50 Deny codes. Each code can contain up to 20 digits including digits 0-9, “#” as a wild card (any digit) and “*” as the end of entry mark.

 

As digits are dialled, they are compared to entries in the appropriate Exception Table. Based on the Allow and Deny entries, the system applies the following rules to allow or deny the call:
