This document is intended to provide the reader with the necessary steps to clear a locked handset

 

Locked Phone

 

If a station is taken off-hook and left, you will first hear a howling tone to warn the user their handset needs to be replaced.

 

After this times out, the station will automatically lock, meaning flex keys relating to this user will flash quickly.

 

If someone presses this flex key or dials the user, they will see “Locked” on the screen and receive error tone.  (If this occurs on an SLT port, and the handset is down, you may need to check the wiring or test a phone directly in the port).

 

Simply replace the handset to remove the lock.
