iPECS UCP – Configuring Greeting in to the correct format using Audacity

1) Open Audacity, and then either open the file using the file open option or you can also drag and drop the music file in to audacity.

2) Once you have the greeting in Audacity you will need to match the format required this is CCITT u-Law, 8000 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono, 7kb/sec . If the file is in stereo format then you will need to split this in to mono

3) You will now be able to delete one of the streams that is not going to be used changing from stereo to mono

4) In the bottom left corner of the screen you will then need to select the project rate and amend this to 8000kHz

5)Select File Export audio

6) Select Other Uncompressed Files from the save as type drop down

7) Select the header type to Wav and the Encoding Type to Ulaw, You will then need to change the end of the file type to be .wav and then click save.

8) You will then be provided with the ability to add meta data this is information around the recording, we do not want to use this as it can cause issues with audio to make sure nothing is entered select all rows and click remove then save.

Greeting is now available to be uploaded to the UCP as this is in the correct format.
