No speech on remote phones after software upgrade

Description

Software upgrades generally from version 5.0 upwards can cause a spurious IP address to appear which re-routes RTP (speech) to the wrong location and also requires it come come from that location. A normal symptom in this scenario is that the handset appears connected from the remote site and can go off hook and dial normally, but no ring tone or speech is heard in either direction.

Resolution

Check the sequence number for the VoIP GW in PGM 102-103 second column. this is usually 1. If you are using a VOIM note the sequence number for this module as well.

Load PGM 132 (Board Based Data) and load the sequence relating to your VoIP channels. Ensure there is no entry in the RTP Packet Relay Firewall IP Address box, this should always be blank. You may see a spurious address here which is the cause of the problem. Also ensure the correct address is in the Firewall IP Address box as normal.
