To set up WIT- 400H phones on the IPECS you must remember that they work as SIP and will only work with level 5.5 software or later. The SIP ports 5060 and 7000-7315 will need forwarding to the MFIM

On The IPECS

Go to SIP DATA program 212 and select from the drop down box CONFTYPE WIT-400 and click SAVE. (the field will return to none) Scroll down and click VIEW to confirm it says “sysconf_wit_400h.cfg”

Go to REMOTE DEVICE REGISTER program 443, enter the required station number of the WIT – 400H phone. It should match the desired number in the handset set up below. Enter the password it should match the password in the handset set up below.

Click SAVE.

On The WIT-400H

1. Power up the WIT – 400H handset, once it has finished the initialisation process the Time+Date screen will be displayed. To set time/date, MENU + 6 + 5 scroll left to LONDON press OK.

2. Looking at the phone press the top silver button with the aerial sign on it. The phone will search for an available wireless network, scroll down to your preferred wireless network and press the right hand button labelled ADD. Then press NEXT and scroll right 3 times to WPA-PSK-TKIP and enter the wireless network password. Then press NEXT + NEXT + SAVE. The aerial symbol at the top left of the screen will then scroll until it connects.

3. You can view the status of the wireless connection by doing MENU + 8 + 6.

4. To continue setting up the WIT – 400H press MENU + 8 + 2 and dial 0000 and OK.

Enter the required Station number and make sure it corresponds with the IPECS. Navigate down, Enter display name (optional)

Navigate down, Enter password (must match the IPECS)

Navigate down, SIP Domain…nter here the internal/external MFIM address

Navigate down, Proxy IP…nter here the global IP address of the MFIM if it is a remote phone.

Navigate down, Proxy Port 5060 DO NOT CHANGE!

Press SAVE.

5. Now press MENU + 8 + 3 + 0000 and OK. Enter the global IP address of the MFIM if it is a remote phone. In this section if the port of the MFIM has been changed from PORT 80 to PORT 90 as we usually do then :90 needs to be added at the end of the IP address. If you don’t do this it won’t work.

The phone should now provision and the phone symbol with a line through at the top of the screen should disappear when connected. If after following this guide carefully the phone doesn’t register, it may need upgrading. The software + instructions are in the Software Library on the Pragma website, under the LG Handset section.
