This document is intended to provide the reader with the necessary information for issues connecting a DSS to an LDP Handset

 

 

DSS Connectivity Issue

 

If you are having issues connecting a DSS to an LDP Handset, then there is possibly an issue with the cable from the DSS Console to the socket. When mapping a DSS to the handset in Pgm 110 it returns to IPKTS. The pin outs for some reason on these DSS cords are different so they aren’t working with the normal line cords. Change from 1-4 on the RJ11 end to 2 and 3 and the system will now recognise them. You can also change the socket wiring from pins 2 and 5 to 3 and 4, either way will rectify the issue.
