Athena Wireless Headset Battery Life

Athena wireless headset battery failing to last eight hours: – It is important to first check the below before raising a ticket or DOA

  1. Athena full battery is indicated by a solid blue light on the headset.

  1. There are two things that affect the talk time of the wireless headset.
  1. Audio Connection mode: Wideband or Narrowband
  2. Distance between the base station and headset.

  • The iPECS Athena headset only has a wideband connection and it has a 400mAh battery.
  • To get the best battery life, the headset needs to be less than 10 meters away from the base when in use.
  • The headset will use much more battery life when it is further than the 10 meters, estimated 4.5 hours.

Generally speaking when the battery life is lower than expected, it is possible a user error situation.

User errors to look out for:

  • When a call is ended on the PC (Using the mouse) the headset does not hang up. The headset needs to be docked back on the stand or the button on the headset pressed to put it back in standby mode.
  • An easy indication of this is, If the green light on the base station is on, the headset is in use.
  • If the user is moving around the office and takes the headset 10 meters plus whilst it is active, the battery will be running down quicker.

Note: **  Please make sure the Athena headset has been correctly installed and setup as per the iPECS ONE – USB Headset Integration KB (Click Here)
