Unified S/W Procedure Upgrade v1.3.9 and below
It has come to our attention that due to recent license changes, there has been a change in procedure for Unified Systems running S/W v1.3.9 or below when adding new license files/upgrading the system. Please note this only applies to systems outside of Software Assurance. (If you have valid assurance on the previous file format then upgrade to the latest S/W then upload the new license file).
If you have ordered a new licence file for a system that falls within these S/W versions then please follow the below instructions:
Case 1 S/W is v1.3.9 or earlier with expired SWA New License File not Uploaded
- Order SWA and any additional licenses required, to generate new license file (DO NOT UPLOAD THE DAT FILE TO THE SYSTEM AT THIS POINT)
- Backup Database
- Upgrade the system using the “Special Upgrade Files” for your appropriate System/Version level (See below links). Remember to upload kernel first followed by the application file
- Upon reboot, the system will be in limited service mode
- Upload new license file with valid SWA to resolve limited service mode
Case 2 S/W is v1.3.9 or earlier with expired SWA New License File Uploaded
- The system will be in limited service mode and will display “illegal license file” in System Overview, Software Maintenance section. At this point please contact Pragma Technical Support who will assist with the recovery of the system.
