Uploading Speed dials from an Excel Document

It is possible on the iPECS system to upload your speed numbers from an excel document.  To do this, you need to use offline admin in order to convert the database from a.xls file to a .spdgzfile.  We would recommend that you put one entry into the system speed dial table, export it to an excel spreadsheet first so you have the correct format to build your spreadsheet from.

To export the one number to an excel spreadsheet:

From the live system, enter just one number into your system speed bin under System Data – System Speed Dial.

From the Maintenance tab, click Database, Database Management, System Speed Dial.  This will download a .spdgz file.

Open offline Admin

Go to Maintenance, Database, Database Upload and browse to your .spdgz file and upload to the Offline system.

Click offline admin icon in tray

Click Edit Speed Dial

Click Operation and Save to Excel

Open in Excel and fill in the spreadsheet. The CO Line Type needs to be “Loop”.

Click Offline admin icon in tray

Click Edit speed, Operation, Load from Excel

Then Save to DB

This then puts the excel document into the System speed bins.  You can now save the file to one the iPECS will recognise (.spdgz) and upload back into your live system.  To do this:

Go to Maintenance, Database Management and download System Speed

Then go back to your live system:

Maintenance, Database Upload, find new .spdgz file and upload
