iPECS Cloud – TDM trunk gateway setup

TDM Trunk Gateways are available to be used on the iPECS Cloud platform to allow you to use analogue and ISDN lines on the cloud platform.

Firstly, you will need to order the trunk gateway and TDM licences through the order process.  When ordering your DDI numbers, you need to order them without the area code as the platform will route based on 6 digits.  You also need to ensure the module is running the latest s/w version which is available from our website using the below link:

Once you have ordered the module you will then need to configure the module. To do this you will need to navigate Trunk G/W Management, next select your module then click modify. You will then need to enter the MAC address for the device.

Browser to the IP address of the module. The default IP addresses can be found on this KB: iPECS Gateways IP Addresses

In the module, go to System > System Settings > then under IP Address enter the IP address your LIP phones would be using to connect. This can be found under the Reseller Portal > Customer > Customer Info > Phone Setting Info.

Then save it

Go to LAN > LAN Settings. Here you need to enter how this module will be connected.

For Cloud, you can set it as you do with Cloud phones, choosing DHCP and setting to Remote.

When using TDM Trunks you will need to select how this will be used. In Trunk Gateway Management select the Trunk Channel Setting for how the TDM lines will be used. This setting will determine what options in Line Setting you will be able to select.

If in Trunk Gateway Management you select Incoming Channel, in Line Settings you would only be able to select the options that have TDM input, for example. That means all your TDM lines will be only in, only out or in/out.

Then in Line Settings you need to select how you want your lines routed SIP or TDM in or out.

Please note that if you are using TDM and SIP, in Line Settings you will enter how many SIP lines you want in and/or out. The TDM are set on Trunk Gateway Management as explained above.

Using analogue lines

If you are using an analogue line module like a LGCM8, for example, you need to set the routing for each line under Trunk Gateway Management > Ch. DIL Routing Number. Not under DDI Summary.

In Use Trunk Channel you can set how many of your lines, that are connected, you want to use.

Note:  if you require inbound DDI calls on ISDN, you will need to order the number without the area code. E.g. instead of ordering ISDN number 01903927100, you would order just 927100 and then route the DDI as normal in DDI summary.
